Lemma Megersa is the president of Oromia region in Ethiopia; he was appointed in October 2016. He has been widely popular for his efforts to unite the country[1] and is described by The Economist as "the country’s most popular politician."[2]
== Background lemma was born in Bilo Boshee woreda of East Welega zone. Lemma received his first degree from Addis Ababa University in Political Science and International Relations. He did his masters in International Relations in the same university. [3]
Lemma served as speaker of Caffe, a regional parliament, before becoming regional president in Oct 2016.
